The Lac Vieux Desert Education Department is available to help with any K-12 and higher education needs. The Education Department is able to assist with upcoming school supplies needs, assisting with college student expenses, college student funding assistance, senior donations, a library stocked with movies, computers, and books, good grade incentives, and work clothes assistance, and job relocation assistance.
The following programs are only available to enrolled Lac Vieux Desert Tribal Members.
UPCOMING MEETING:
This incentive program is available to all enrolled LVD Tribal children in grades K-12 who have perfect attendance or a specific GPA (grades 7-12 only).
Parents/Legal Guardians must complete a Records Request Form and return it to the Education Department to qualify for the K-12 School Incentive Program
This incentive is for students in grades K-6. For each semester the student will receive:
For honor roll per semester (A's, B's, & C's) the child will receive a $50.00 reward.
For perfect attendance per semester, the child will receive a $75.00 reward.
This incentive is for students grades 7-12. For each semester, students with perfect attendance or a specific Grade Point Average (GPA) will receive:
$75.00
$100.00
In order to be eligible for all the incentive program advantages the student must have no disciplinary citations, no detentions, no truancy, no behavioral citations during the semester.
Special Education, Special Needs and 504 students will qualify for the Incentive if the student has an IEP and follows the plan for the Semester.
The Lac Vieux Desert Education Department now funds summer school, part-time, full-time college, orientation, and dorm room deposits.

- All paperwork, and/or grades must be turned into the Lac Vieux Desert Education Department within 2 weeks of semester ending before any funds are sent to the educational institutions. -
The Lac Vieux Education Department funds one (1) Accredited Vocational Training (AVT) course in a 12-month period.

Lac Vieux Education Department has the ability to assist Tribal Members with Job Relocation Assistance, this is only available for full-time employment and is a once in a lifetime program with exceptions approved by the Tribal Council.
Lac Vieux Desert will pay the following:
You must secure a full-time job before any relocation monies are secured and have a letter from your employer stating you are hired full-time.
You must stay employed for at least 6 months or you will be required to pay any tribally funded money received, back in a timely manner.

Lac Vieux Desert Education Department is willing to assist with any mandatory work clothes requirements. If qualified you can receive up to $200.00 for pants, shirts, and shoes expenses.
Receipts must be turned in within two (2) weeks of the date the check was issued for the purchase of work clothes for the new job position. m
Any monies not spent must be returned to LVD Education Department, failing to do so will result in the issue being turned over to the Legal Department for collection.
